A friend writes:

I’m at the dentist and they’re hurting me. The technician is some sweet young thing from a local junior college and she doesn’t really know what she’s doing, and even though she’s cute when she leans in real close, I notice her breath isn’t the freshest and make a mental note to tell the doctor she needs to get a dental hygiene lesson of her own.
     They haven’t given me enough anesthetic. And they’re blaring oldies from the 70s and 80s through the ceiling. Just as they’re probing me with those little hooked instruments and it’s really starting to hurt, the radio starts playing “More than a feeling” by Boston. And they want to know why I'm laughing?
      Not as bad as what happened to a friend of mine though. She got an abortion to a classic rock soundtrack, and at the key moment heard "You're no good" by Linda Ronstadt.
